Hello, I am selling my 2000 M/T Citrus Insight. If you're looking at this ad, you probably know that these are special little cars, and the Citrus ones are quite rare. This one drives nicer than my 80 thousand mile Insight. Here are some basics: -2000 -Citrus -5 Speed Manual-3 owner car, clean title -I average 60mpg during my urban driving. More when it's highway driving. -Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota -IMA age unknown, needs charging every month or two. -Transmission works great during my usage. It has been rebuilt buy a previous owner within the last 30k miles (synchros, clutch assembly). Same with brakes and valve adjustments. -Currently there are no codes, but the IMA faults after a month or two which then I just grid charge it. -Interior is 8/10. Needs a detail, but everything is there (apart from the thermostat knob). Rearview mirror reflective coating is peeling, steering wheel is spongy. Everything works. -Exterior is 6/10. Paint is faded on the roof, there are scuffs, bumper has been hit, etc. Clear coat from someone's headlight refinish job developed a frosted look, mirror is electrical taped on (housing isn't broken) -Mechanically the car works great, apart from the finicky IMA. Heat and AC work perfectly, etc. -It needs new tires. Existing ones are old, low tread, and are dry cracking. -Tracks straight and drives quite nicely. -Underside looks very clean. I noticed almost NO rust/corrosion. All I've done on it is regular oil changes and grid charges. I connected with a previous owner via the InsightCentral.net forums. He told me about the service history: "I bought it as a dealer from the first owner and sold it to the person I assume you got it from. The harness is for a Genesis 1 or, now, a Hybrid Revolt charger. I thought someone on the forum was selling a used one. I did rebuild the transmission and replace the clutch assembly plus brought all the maintenance up to date. I'll get back to you over the weekend with more info after looking at the file I have on it." "Looks like I got it January 2013 with about 189,000 miles and sold it July 2014 with almost 193,000 miles. During that time I also replaced the rear transmission mount, spark plugs, valve adjustment, new front brake pads and rotors, changed brake fluid and cleaned the EGR plate. I grid charged it so the battery seemed ok at the time but I don't think she had a charger so it might help but as old as it may be, you never know. Good luck with it." It was then owned by someone until I think around 210k, and then I purchased it. It's been a great little car, I'd love to pass a Citrus along to someone who wants one! I don't intend on selling the car with the grid charger that I use. The car can be run completely on the gas engine/12v system if you disconnect the IMA pack. I think this car would happily drive across the country, but the bad tires must be taken into consideration. I drove it home in spring from Nevada to Minnesota. 2000 Honda Insight – Citrus 5 speed If you want a very original, low mile, true survivor, citrus-colored 5-speed Insight, read on! I am an insight fanatic and private owner. The citrus colored insights were only made in the first model year, 2000. The number produced was very low, estimates of 300 total. A true collector car. This car has only 89K original miles. The body is very nice as seen in the pictures. All body panels have the correct VIN tag on it, front fenders, hood, doors, quarter panels, rear hatch, front and back bumper covers. The car has never been in any kind of accident, and it has a clean carfax report. The interior of the car is very nice. The seats are great and not worn through, in fact they show very little wear at all, the steering wheel, dash, headliner, door panels, trunk carpeting, etc., have no stains at all, and are all perfect. All the rubber is perfect. It has brand new set of Michelin Green X tires, low rolling resistance tires. It has a brand new hybrid battery ($2500 cost). The AC system was completely rebuilt and works great. The car runs, drives, and shifts very well, and is a super smooth rider. It has brand new brake rotors and ceramic pads on the car. The car has all the manuals, key and remote, too. Accessory-wise, everything works exactly as it should, heater, blower fan, power windows and switches, power locks and switches, turn signals, every bulb inside and out, all the dash including the trip meter, horn, turn signals, stock Honda am/fm/cassette stereo (rare 4 speaker option, with great sound), rear trunk release actuator, rear trunk lock, hatch struts, wipers, squirters, etc. This car is one of the nicest citrus you'll find for sale in the country.
